Why is it that people always self insert as the obvious caricatures in weebsim and then try to get offended by it?
Sorry for the lack of contents these past few years, but apparently this content just writes itself. This is one of the funnier hate mails I got so I'm sharing it with you guys.
As some of you may know, my clinical duties as a doctor and my family obligations picked up these past few years so I haven't been able to continue weebsim, I don't know when I will get back to writing this, but it's definitely a non-zero chance. And hey after this gave me such a chuckle after so many years, I might actually continue where I left off.
...Or, if this weeb keeps seething and coping then he can just keep writing stuff like this to continue the story in a meta way. It's entertainment for you guys either way.

Also predict how many "chapters" this guy will write on my behalf trying to get the last word for something he sanctimoniously claims to not care about~

ReplyDeleteFor context for the rest of you: Kalinsre here was a moderator who took over a popular "Kantai Collection" forum and torpedoed its community within a year due to their inept management and tendency to do things like, well, this -- screenshotting others' words and reposting them to echo chamber spaces where they are guaranteed to be surrounded in like minds, breeding a community built on gossip, mockery and in/out-crowds. As part of some weird roleplay, they branded themselves as a "cult leader" and habitually surrounded themselves in people who were eager to earn their approval (or, at least, avoid being the target of their mockery). I suspect this was also, in part, because they were ostensibly a woman -- and Kantai Collection, like most games of its kind, overwhelmingly marketed itself to single, lonely men.
From what I can remember having been on those forums myself, most of the characters in their story are lazy caricatures of users who participated there, even down to their parodical names. I'm sorry if anyone coming to this blog is expecting inspired, heartfelt fiction aiming to create "scarily human" weeaboo archetypes, but this story is little more than the fanfiction of a vindictive forum mod whose pitiful real life ("weeb flexes" aside, who the fuck believes an actual doctor with a family is writing this shit? lmao) must feel better in comparison with someone to laugh at.
Kalinsre is and was a human microcosm of the kind of culture you find on KiwiFarms, patting themselves on the back for being a shithead because they believe the people they target deserve it more. I guess that some people here reading this might suffer from similar proclivities, but for anyone else, look away. This is the narrative equivalent of a high school bully making a Facebook hate page for the nerds they dunked on in their glory days, a decade after graduation day.

I was disappointed the feed ping wasn't a comic and initially ignored this post because drama is boring. On the other your comment reminded me that there are people in this world who will post multi-paragraph replies to a post about shit over half a decade old and die on a hill that the author is unhinged and psychotic yet you're perfectly sane.

All right, try to imagine it from my perspective if you're so fucking incensed that you need to rush to the author's aid. I'll write it out in a timeline for you.
Delete1. I was in transit, feeling reflective on my life. I saw something (some lurid mobage ad, maybe?) and remembered the otaku shit I did when I was in college. I recalled Himeuta and thought "Whatever happened to that crazed bitch who sunk the KC forums?" For a bit of context, Kalinsre was a kind of infamous name with forum refugees and admittedly I was morbidly curious to see whatever the fuck happened to them.
2. I searched their name and found this blog. I see they're writing some "Otaku Simulator" thing. The name definitely grabs attention, so I click and read a random update from however long ago.
3. In the process I see that there is a character who is literally and actually me. I know they're me because the caricature's name is a parody of my old forum username, using a picture (I think?) of the same obscure character I liked, and the running gags about them are 1:1 retellings of extremely specific things that the author used to mock me over. It was like seeing a ghost of the most embarrassing moments of my past, retold from the perspective of someone who hated me.
4. I go back and read a bit more, and it becomes pretty clear that the entire story is some weird reliving of the days where the forums balkanised into Skype/Discord groups. It has no worldbuilding or character development; having been there personally for a time, it feels like little more than hatefiction of exactly the kind of eccentrics the community attracted through its rise and fall.
5. I then realise that this shit was written in, like, the late 2010s. It dawns on me that this person, years after I forgot about them, was writing a caricaturised snapshot of a person I was (and, doubtless, the people other users from the same community were) years after we stopped being part of each other's lives.
6. I find this to be genuinely fucking weird. I join their linked Discord to tell them, respectfully, that I find it to be pretty sad that they're doing this with their life.
That's what happened.
Wouldn't you find it fucking "cringey" if someone you knew from the distant past was writing weird fanfiction about a distant, embarrassing snapshot of your life and trying to market it as their own brilliant subcultural commentary?
Maybe you wouldn't. Maybe this is normal in your world, and well, that's your business. If you don't find that understandable and you feel the need to die on this hill to protect the author's dignity, that's on you. But I personally don't think there's a single sensible human being on Earth who thinks it's not a little pathetic to be writing fanfiction about weebs you shat on over the Internet years after they last talked to you.
Your entire zinger here is that looking up the name of some deranged forum diva who singlehandedly tanked a community on a whim is weird. And yeah, maybe it was? I certainly wish I didn't, so forgive my morbid curiosity. But I think a single Google search pales in comparison to the awe-inspiring "cringe" that is turning people you hated from your past into characters in your half-baked hatefiction.

It's because everything you write just proves that you are the exact kind of pathetic self righteous weeb that the story is mocking. You try to play it like some mistake you made in the distant past being mocked now, but your writing proves that you are clearly the exact same guy as before. You may feel like you are the sane and reasonable one in your world, but seriously read what you wrote. If it doesn't spell condescension and cringe then you completely lost the plot. Just the original post alone would invite nothing but derision regardless of who you sent it to, not because of the content of what you wrote but how you chose to deliver it in the most comically patronizing way possible for the sole purpose of masking your own embarrassment and humiliation. If you truly think you were being "respectful" here then you really have some growing up to do.
DeleteIn the posts following you continue this narrative of coming off as the more mature one who is "above it all", but all it managed to do was to personally CONFIRM that you are far worse than whatever caricature portrayal you claim was you. You simultaneously claim that the work is about exaggerated caricatures and that the work is based on you. So which is it? Are they both true? Are you in fact a living and walking exaggerated caricature that you are protesting against? I think based on what you wrote we all know the answer is a resounding yes.
And no, the fact that you are personally obsessed with the author is not the only "zinger". The real zinger here is the combination of everything. For the sake of simplicity let's just pick out two things for now:
1. You repeatedly claim that this fiction is worthless because it was inspired by real life events you claim to have experienced yourself. But did you know that most, if not all, authors draw from real life experiences for their fiction? Your repeated attempt at invalidating this work on the basis that it was inspired from real life events (let's pretend that it's true) makes me think that you have never read a book in your life, and, based on your behavior so far, I wouldn't be surprised if you never have.
2. You keep attacking the author by calling her "pathetic" for doing this "with her life", and you discredit her real life obligations based on your own insecurities. But have you ever considered the difference between a hobby and a job? Did you know that people are capable of having real life accomplishments AND have side projects like this? I myself am a full time engineer with a wife and kids, and I engage in artistic side projects far more sophisticated than this one (sorry Ayase no disrespect), so it's perfectly reasonable for a doctor like herself (confirmed on multiple occasions by her community btw) to write parody/caricatures during her free time. Maybe it would take YOU a life time to accomplish a minor task like this, but you already lost the game the moment you start to gauge other people from your own limited and uninspiring POV.
Anon, the truth of the matter is, until you stop seeing the world from the limited perspective of a loser, you will never understand how winners function, and you will never understand how amusing it is for someone's semi-abandoned side hobby to upend your entire existence in the course of a week. A loser like you will always be a loser because you will just keep trying the same thing over and over, leading to failure after failure like you have done thus far. But, credit where credit is due, in your final post (who are we kidding, we all know you're gonna keep posting), you did especially admit that you are in fact pathetic. So hopefully you learned something from all this, but I remain skeptical.

I looked back at old chat logs I was in when this first got started, saw broken english typical 200x grammar , saying stuff like "u got big titty? lets fuck lmao" and other over the top things back then. When I see stuff like that now my initial reaction was to recoil in embarrassment but then just laugh and remember how immature I used to be. I wouldn't go scream bloody murder at someone posting those logs. In fact, I'd probably thank them for the nostalgia and laugh along. "Haha yeah I was pretty cringe back then."
